We've shifted

After discussing with mummy, we've decided to be gracious and co-own a blog with mummy.

She's not have time to help us log into our account now. Moreover, due to the large amount of pictures we've put up since 2006, the quota's almost met and soon, we may not be able to put anymore pictures.

So here goes : http://littleflower-in-a-land-far-away.blogspot.com/

She'll do the entries from now on (since we came in fact) so if you miss us, just drop us a greeting in the chatbox. We'll still be replying :)

Baileys' Entry: We're in boarding

Check out mummy's new blog about us here http://littleflower-in-a-land-far-away.blogspot.com/2008/04/day-4.html

We've reached Arizona safely, barked till neighbours complain about us and we had to be boarded. To be boarded, we have to have our vaccinations records updated. So in the last few days, we've stayed in a noisy cabin, in a hotel, gotten vaccinated and now are in boarding.

We'll not have much time to blog from now on but mummy will be telling her friends about us. If you miss us and wish to know how we're doing, see mummy's blog at http://www.littleflower-in-a-land-far-away.blogspot.com/

Baileys' Entry: Lazy afternoons

Before AN came, whenever we write about lazy afternoons, you'll see pictures of us standing against the window and looking out.

Now with this new pet, we have more to do. Not much of lazy afternoons anymore. I, esp, take on the responsibility of watching over her, like I've mentioned constantly (and like mummy kept repeating to her guests how I will watch over AN).

This is what our lazy afternoon now looks like.

Mummy says I'm really a gentle giant. Big as I may be (compared to Maen), I will gently lick AN each time I walk by.

I have something called a bad habit tho: that is, I like to scare the adults by jumping at AN when they are looking. I do not jump on her. I jump towards her and start to lick her. She tastes, different.

Mummy noticed that when no one watches, I do not do that. Heard her telling grandma that I am actually way gentler to AN than we see each time.

Well, the adults ARE in fact convinced that I'm capable of taking care of AN anyway, except that they have a problem with me constantly kissing AN on her lips.

Oh well, that's between me and her. keke.

Maen's Entry: Pretty Me and Handsome gor gor

Mummy wanted to bring us to Uncle Mark's for grooming one of these days but every day is packed till the day papa hands his car over to the new temporary owner. So we didn't get to go back to Uncle Mark.

We went to Bark and Bubbles instead. The last time we got a bandana each. This time I got something different and gor gor got another bandana!

Gor gor's bandana
Me with my ribbon

Us at night before my ribbon fell off and disappeared :(

Don't I look sweet? Mummy says I look sooooo pretty and sweet beyond words. hehe. She says I have to watch where I go else I'd get carried away by the ants.

Mummy didn't realise my fur is long enough for her to tie a ribbon on me. She has decided that I can continue to look pretty. She'll put ribbons on me from now on. hehe.

Maen's Entry: Bad News!

Mummy got a call from Pet Movers yesterday regarding our flight to Tucson. It was terrible news :( The last connecting flight from LA to Tucson will be a small air craft and they only allow 1 dog per flight.

The adult went into a state of frenzy. They started calling up the airline, and Pet Movers to discuss alternatives.

Airline suggested we go by cargo. Pet Movers suggested papa and mummy travel on separate dates so that each of us can follow each of them.

Both suggestions are no good to them.

Travelling by cargo meant they will not be able to see or touch us till days later. And they are worried we'd get lost or switched in the process without anyone realising it. Afterall, not everyone can tell us apart from each other and from other CKCS.

And they can't change their flight details from one day to another. It's too short a notice and the admin people will not be very happy about this (papa says they've got too much work to do and it's unfair to have to get them to change our travel details at this last min!)

The unfair thing is, the airline confirmed gor gor on the flight that allows only one dog. And that meant if any dog has to be sacrificed, I will have to be the one.

But I thank God I have a smart papa!

He thought of asking if they could travel separately on the last connecting flight to Tucson. If they can, we'll all get to travel together till LA. Then gor gor will leave with papa on the flight to Tucson, and me with mummy and AN later.

Problem is, papa thinks there's only 1 flight out to Tucson everyday.

BUT as with all bad news, the good news is, after calling United Airlines, papa got to know there will actually be 2 flights out to Tucson afterall! And we can all travel together till LA when we will part for a while.

So papa did all the arrangement to change part of the itinerary. Thank God there was 1 space left on the 2nd flight to Tucson. Just that ONE space left for mummy (and ME and AN!)

Mummy has air sickness. That's the only problem now. And they have AN.

Papa was contemplating making mummy and me (and AN) board the earlier flight (as scheduled) and he will take the next flight. But the hotel room we'll be checking into is booked in papa's name and mummy won't recognise papa's friend who'll be coming to pick us up.

They decided that papa and gor gor will leave before we do, and then mummy, me and AN will leave later. It's a difference of 6 hours of waiting, and 1hr 15mins of flying.

Papa's worried for mummy now. She's got air sickness and AN to take care of. Papa wanted to take AN with him but mummy doesn't think he will be able to handle her by himself. So AN will be with mummy (and me in the cargo area).

So now, please pray with us that mummy will get enough rest during the hours of flying prior to the last flight when the adults will be separated. Please pray that mummy will not feel giddy or nauseous throughout the whole 20 over hours till we reach. Please also pray that AN will behave during the period of 6 hrs when papa goes over with gor gor 1st. And that mummy will feel well thru this 6hrs.

We are still thankful coz mummy says they, human, are stronger than we are (hmm.....?) so they will be able to take the separation and long hours of flying. Mummy says she can pop pills and go to sleep. AN, with all your prayers, will also sleep without the need to dope her. Papa and mummy says this is the best arrangement. Whatever they plan, we will follow.

Lastly, do pray with us that we will be able to take the long hours of flying ourselves. Please pray that we will not feel too stressed up with the noisy engine and all. And that the air turbulence will rock us to sleep instead of make us jump in anxiety. Please pray for nice handlers throughout the whole journey so that we will be gently handled till we reach the hands of our adults.

Looking forward to our new life ahead. Please keep us in prayers k?

Baileys' Entry: 1 week to departing

By this time next week, we'll probably in the cold and dark luggage part of the aircraft of UA804.

Many things happened (not bad things tho) during our absence since our last post. hehe.

There was baby AN's birthday bash last Saturday which was REALLY FUN!

We had many guests, none look like us tho. Baby was supposed to be centre of attraction but she wasn't really. It was not our fault that people coo over how cute we are too *smug* Mummy, more of these parties please!!

Kids love us (except for 1 who hid at a corner and shrunk whenever we started walking). Samuel boy was sooooooooo excited at seeing us for the 1st time that he behaved a little "ding dong" (as described by the boy's father). He just kept laughing and laughing at every tiny thing we did (even as we walked. We must have really looked funny to him). He laughed so hard that he fell backwards and we think he hit his head but he was still laughing at us. That was so funny and mummy thought it was cute but hoping at the same time the knock on the head wasn't too serious.

And Kaeden came! We've finally met Kaeden and smell Milo on him. It's been really long since we met Milo. Maen has never met him before tho. Kaeden was cool about us. hehe. He grows up with Milo so we do not scare him. Mummy then tells grandma that kids who grow up with dogs will not fear dogs. And the relative see for themselves how we (us and AN) enjoy each others' presence too. They looked impressed. hehe.

That aside, my purpose of posting today is to update on our cave training.

I'm now comfortable with, and in my cave (^_^)

Mummy does the usual "sleep!" routine and we'll retreat into our caves. She's started to shut the gates on us and I've come to realise it's really not as threatening as I thought it would be. I just have to lie and shut my eyes, and then go to sleep while mummy does what she needs to do, with my cave door shut. Not as issue to me anymore.

Mummy's really glad that both of us are comfortably trained to rest happily in our caves now, with the sesame door shut. That means we will survive, at least, the initial transportation next friday, to the airport. As to whether we'll be ok on the aircraft, we'll keep u guys updated again!

Our health check will be on Tuesday. Will update too :)

Maen's Entry: 3 of Us

AN's joining us on the floor more often now. See us play!

1st, gor gor and I chilling out on a wam afternoon...

Then the new crawler comes to join in our fun
Gor gor training the little one to be tough enough to play rough like we do

Deciding the little one is too young to play rough, mummy signals for time out. So we do what we always do on a lazy afternoon: Watch out of the windows. How long more can we do that??

Little one too short to see what's going on down there.

Gor gor helps by telling her what he sees most times when he stands up to gaze down

Bonding
